Special Events
Throughout the school year, Montessori Radmoor invites you to participate in the following events and special functions.  Current dates for all events are listed on our home page.

School Welcome Picnic: We like to start the new school year off by giving our families a chance to meet with staff and other families.  This annual event will be held at the beautiful  Potter Park where the school provides the main dish, everyone brings a side and the children enjoy fun activities. Join us on September 7, 2012 from 5:30-7p.m.

Parent Study Programs: Throughout the school year, parents and staff gather together to discuss various aspects of child development and Montessori philosophy. There will be several different meeting times planned with the hope that everyone would be able to join us at one time or another. For times and dates, check our schedule

  
 
PGA Events:  Our Parent and Guardian Association host monthly coffees in the gym to discuss various topics.  The PGA also holds various fundraising events, such as the t-shirt sale,, shopping events and our annual community garage sale.  They also hold different night time and weekend family events, such as an ice skating party.
 
Elementary Business: Our upper elementary children are responsible for running the monthly bagel breakfast and various fundraisers to support their elementary business fund.  In the past, they have purchased two composters for the school, and each year they help raise funds for presents for children in foster families with their annual bake sale.   They are an innovative group of youngsters that do a fantastic job in supporting their school and community. 

 
 
Wine & Beer Tasting Event:  Join us on November 3rd, 2012 at Walnut Hills Country Club to sample Michigan Wines & Brews. Live entertainment provided by the Garage Sale Band. Tickets are $50 per person and all proceeds go to building and scholarship needs..
 

Special Person’s Day: This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to bring someone special to explore our school for the morning.  They are taken on a tour of the school and visit the child’s classroom where they can experience various Montessori materials.  This is an annual favorite of our families. This year's event will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012.

Open Houses:  We like to welcome prospective parents by hosting an open house.  This is a great opportunity to visit the school, meet with our staff and experience the wonderful Montessori materials.  Our 2013 Open Houses are scheduled for January 19th and February 23rd from 10:00 a.m. – Noon.                               

Night at the Museum Event:  We invite you to join us on March 23, 2013 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. for an exciting family event at Impression 5 museum. It will be a fun night at the museum with workshops, silent auction and live auction bidding. Please click to  BID & REGISTER NOW!


International Night: Culture and diversity are the fundamentals of our school and this is a night to celebrate what makes this school so special- our unique blend of families!  On this night, the classrooms are magically transformed into various continents and the gym is turned into an ethnic food court where parents bring a special dish to pass celebrating their heritage. It is scheduled for May 17, 2013.

Pre-International Night Picnic at Wonch Park:  May 17, 2013 noon-3pm
Join other families in an afternoon of fun at Wonch Park as the Radmoor staff prepares the school for International Night.  Bring your own lunch and beverages.  Wonch Park is at the NW corner of Okemos Rd. and Mt. Hope Rd.  The park has a playground, picnic shelters, bathrooms, and tons of space to run around.
