Staff Backgrounds

Our Administrator has been serving in this capacity since 1991.  She has spent over 16 years in the field of Montessori education as a teacher and as an administrator and has a BA from Western Michigan with a K-8 teaching certificate and a triple minor in Elementary Education, Creative Dramatics and Science.

Her credentials also include an AMI Montessori Diploma for ages three through six from the Midwest Montessori Institute and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University.

In Our Toddler Room Communities...Our Directress in Toddler I, began in 1993 at Montessori Radmoor School.  She has been involved in the field of education for over twenty years, and holds a BA in Liberal Arts from the University of Oklahoma, an Early Childhood Development MA from Michigan State University, and Infant and Toddler Montessori training.  She lived in many countries and speaks Spanish and some Italian and Amharic (an Ethiopian language). 

In Toddler II, our directress obtained her bachelors degree in Family Community Service in 1995 and completed her AMI Infant toddler training in 2001. She has been with the school since 1995.

Our Three Preschool Communities....

In Preschool One, our directress has been involved in Montessori education since 1983 and has been at our school since 1991. She has a BA in Education, with a continuing certificate from Western Michigan University, and holds an AMI primary Montessori Diploma and an AMI Assistants to Infancy Diploma. 

In Preschool Two, our directress has been in the preschool community since 1999.  She previously taught Spanish at our school and has three years of experience in early childhood classrooms in California.  She received a BS in Education from the University of Southern California and AMI Montessori training in Los Angeles, CA. 

In Preschool Three, our directress has been at the school since 1995.  She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Minnesota with a major in French and minor in mathematics.  Her association with Montessori began more than 20 years ago when her two daughters attended the Montessori pre-school.  She completed AMI training at the Ohio Montessori Institute in 1995. 

In Our Elementary Community...

In Elementary I (ages 6-9) we have 2 trained Montessori directors. Our first directress has been with the school since 2003. She holds a bachelor's degree in cultural studies, speaks fluent French and has obtained her AMS Montessori training in New York. She brings the experience of being a Montessori student herself.

Our second directress began at the school in 2005. She has over ten years of experience in Montessori education, she obtained her bachelors degree in English and her AMI Montessori training from Milwaukee in 1998.

In Elementary II (ages 9 to 12), our directress has been associated with the school since 1996 as a parent and assistant.  She has worked in the field of education for over 10 years.  She received her BA in early childhood education and holds a K-8 teaching certificate.  She received her AMS lower elementary and upper elementary training from the Michigan Montessori Teacher Education Center in Rochester Hills.

In Our Childcare Community... our coordinator worked as an assistant in the Montessori preschool prior to working in childcare and has been with the school since 2000 . She holds a bachelors degree in music from Western Michigan University.
