Our Staff

Administrator: Susie Hyatt, has been serving in an administrative capacity since 1991.  She has spent over 21 years in the field of Montessori education as a teacher and an administrator in both public and private schools.  She has a  BA degree from Western Michigan with a K-8 teaching certificate. Susie has an AMI Montessori diploma for ages (3-6) from the Midwest Montessori Institute, a Masters of Education from Cleveland State University and has completed Montessori elementary credits through The Center for Contemporary Montessori programs. 

Business Manager: Mollee Neff, started with us in 2007. She holds her bachelors degree in Business Administration,
where she graduated Magna Cum Laude and has over 12 years of business management experience.  Along with her financial responsibilities at the school, Mollee also oversees the Lunch program, After School Clubs and all Building and Maintenance related issues. She also maintains the school's website. Mollee also has an extensive background in the legal and technology fields and is also a Certified Master Herbalist. 

 

Development Assistant: Melinda Schultz is beginning her fourteenth year in Montessori Education.  She obtained her bachelors degree in English from Barat College in Lake Forest, Illinois.  She received her AMI certification at the Montessori Institute of Milwaukee in 1998.  During her time as a Montessori Directress, she was involved in fundraising, parent and alumni communications, strategic planning, and capital campaigns. 


Receptionists:

Sherry Burmeister, who began with us in 2002, returns as our Receptionist for 3 days a week.  She brings over 15 years of experience in an office setting.


Amy Stephenson is job sharing with Sherry and will be working 2 days a week.  Professionally, Amy has a Human Resource and Information Technology background.

 

In Our Toddler Room Communities...

Toddler 1: Kelly Reynolds is in her first year as toddler teacher but has been working in the toddler classrooms since 2001.  She attended Michigan State University as an early childhood development major and completed her AMS Montessori Assistants to Infancy training in 2008.  Prior to working at Montessori Radmoor she operated a home daycare business for five years along with caring for her own daughter. 


Toddler 2: Erin Thomson, our teacher in our second toddler room, obtained her bachelors degree in Family Community Service in 1995 and completed her AMI Infant toddler training in 2001. She has been with the school since 1995.

 

Our Three Preschool Communities....

Primary I: Our teacher, Julie Cavanaugh, has been involved in Montessori education since 1983 and has been at our school since 1991. She has a BA in Education, with a continuing certificate from Western Michigan University, and holds an AMI primary Montessori Diploma and an AMI Assistants to Infancy Diploma. 

 

Primary 2:
Archana Sardar, is in her first year as a Primary teacher at our school.  She was raised in India and came to the United States of America in 1997.  She received a BA in Journalism from Michigan State University.  After working as a journalist for a few years, Archana discovered the joys of a Montessori classroom.  She recently completed her AMS Montessori training in Illinois. 



Rachel Babcock is co-teaching with Archana. She has been in the P2 community since 2007 and has completed her first year of AMI training, for primary 3-6, in St. Louis this summer. Rachel has received her Bachelor of Science degree in Family Community Service with a concentration in young child development. 

 

Primary 3: Patricia Murphy, is starting her second year in a Montessori classroom, and her first as a Primary teacher at our school.  She received her AMS Primary training certification from the Princeton Center for Teacher Education in Princeton, New Jersey.  Prior to her Montessori training, Patricia worked as the coordinator and instructor for an inner-city youth ceramics outreach program in Philadelphia, and taught ceramics to children at the Princeton Arts Council.  Patricia received her bachelors degree in Anthropology from Michigan State University in 1994

In Our Elementary Community...

Elementary 1:(ages 6-9) Heather Busch has been involved in the Montessori community for eight years. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies and Geography from University of Colorado at Boulder.  She received her AMS certification from CMTE in New York. 

 

Elementary 2: (ages 6 to 12) Christine Russell is in her third year working in the Montessori elementary classroom with the school as well as a parent. She holds a bachelors degree in Art History from Michigan State University where she also has studied Landscape Architecture, Philosophy and Medieval History. In 2006 she earned her AMI diploma under the guidance of Dr. Jean Miller. She has also practiced and studied ballet for over 30 years and plays Mandolin.


In Our Childcare Community...


Childcare Coordinator: Kelly Herald begins her 8th year as Childcare Coordinator and her 5th year as the Elementary music teacher.  Kelly has performed and conducted in Carnegie Hall.  She brings to the school her experience as a preschool assistant and a BA in music from Western Michigan University.
